The Big Pour

Iron Mountain Hot Springs during construction

The Big Pour

The Iron Mountain Hot Springs pool looks great after the “big pour” this week. Our construction crew is making much progress on the lodge as well, taking advantage of the warm spring weather.

Designed to make both the kids and the parents happy, this is our family pool and is the largest of our pools. The lower portion is filled with 100,000 gallons of fresh water that’s heated to a comfortable 95 degrees Fahrenheit. A smaller, elevated section sits on the edge of the family pool with a perfect soaking temperature of just over 100°F. Parents can enjoy the hotter water while supervising their children below, with the calming sounds of a waterfall in the background as water cascades from the upper to the lower section.

In addition to the family pool, there will be eight smaller, naturally shaped mineral hot springs pools for soaking. The Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs is the newest Colorado hot springs and is scheduled to open the summer of 2015. It’s located alongside the Colorado River, just across from the base of the tramway at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.
