24 May Six Tips for Summertime Soaking
Oh, happy day! We are so excited to kick off our first full summer season of soaking and swimming at the Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Here are six tips to help you make the most of your upcoming visit.
Arrive early: Morning is the quietest time here. Arrive when we open at 9 a.m. to enjoy a peaceful soak in the cool mountain air.
Stay sun safe: Wear a hat and reapply sunscreen often. Both are available in the gift shop if you forget either. Take a break in the shade of the Sopris Café patio or under an umbrella near the family pool.
Hydrate: The combination of the hot water, warm weather and elevation can take its toll quickly. Bring a refillable water bottle (not glass); there are two bottle-filling stations in the bathhouse. The café has a great selection of cold drinks, smoothies, shakes, floats and ice cream. Limit your consumption of alcohol and caffeine during the heat of the day.
Bring the family: Kids of all ages are welcome in our freshwater family pool and jetted spa. Swim diapers are required and are available for purchase in the gift shop. In the 16 natural, thermal water soaking pools, children from 5 to 13 years must be accompanied by an adult, and ages 4 and younger are not allowed.
Leave the good stuff at home: Our pure thermal waters are rich with minerals, which are rejuvenating to soak in. The minerals can, however, stain swimsuits and tarnish jewelry. Bring last year’s suit instead of that new one you can’t wait to show off.
Save when you ride and relax: Bring your Iron Mountain Hot Springs receipt to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park and save 10% on your admission to The Park.
